Description

Stone Fort is located in a wooded area alongside the golf course at Montlake. It has some of the best and highest quality sandstone climbing in the Southeast. There is a ton of bouldering here and it's very condensed to make for a short approach.

Stone Fort has a wide variety of holds and grades, which makes it a friendly place to climbers at all levels.

History

The Triple Crown Bouldering Series has been held here since 2003. It's a fun competition that takes place around October. This is one out of the three locations for the competition. There are also competition days for Hound Ears and Horse Pens-40. Triple Crown helps fund and bring awareness to the SCC (Southeathern Climbers Coalition). The SCC helps preserve our climbing areas that we love so much. Without them many areas would be closed to climbing.
