Fortinbras, 6b+
The first pitches of this route are rarely climbed. However, the last three pitches probably offer beautiful climbing into “Ja vi elsker dette landet.” You’ll join in after the 6b+ crux, but still get the sweetest climbing through the 6c section and upwards. To take this variation, follow the ledge system up towards the start of Texas Ranger. Pass the belay and continue a few meters to a bolt. From there, head up obvious features with corners, cracks and flakes trending left. These three pitches are graded 6a+, 5+ and 6a+. We haven’t climbed them ourselves, but from above they look inviting and well-protected. The first four pitches before this alternative start are graded 4-, 4, 6b+ and 6b+.
