Description

Apremont Ouest (or West) is one part of the Apremont hill system.

It's most famous from a couple of spesific boulders - Crazy Horse and Dechainee. The latter less climbed, but well known.

There are two nice circuits, orange and red. The red seems to be on the harder side.

Other nice boulders to consider: Piece de Resistance, Menhir, Haka and if you are into lowballs: Attaque des Aplats.

The red (TD+) circuit is one of the best around. There's 40 problems between 5 and 6A+. It has been repainted in 2019 and we have the updated version. Be sure to update your offline crag, because the circuit has changed a lot.

Apremont Ouest

The area is access sensitive!

The forest is a sensitive area. So these rules apply everywhere (also outside Font).

* No littering
* No fires
* Brush the holds
* Do NOT climb when the rock is wet! It is very brittle when wet.
* Carry the pads, don't drag them (helps preventing erosion)
* Stay on the paths!
* Absolutely no bivouacing/camping!

Park your car to the Allee des Vaches (near the La Caverne des Brigands). The total approach is ~600 meters (less than 10 minutes).

Walk for 330 meters and take the left road and walk that for 150 meters. Turn left and you'll find yourself on sandy area. Walk forward and you'll find a path leading you to the sector. You'll get to Hieroglyphes after approx. 200 meters.
