No special access issues

This cliff sea is sheltered from the north wind but, of course, much less from other winds (especially the south-west and south). Given the exposure this crag is recommended for the cold season. With good weather conditions you can enjoy excellent climbs on the sandstone of Sassoscritto. On sunny and nice days the sun will hit the rock strongly. This is a renown area and, with good weather, you will be forced to share the stony beach with the many and varied goers of the hot season (especially in areas farther south with easier access). Climbing at this crag relies on friction but there are also short overhangs and strong steps. The rock is generally fragile. Wearing a helmet is absolutely essential!

APPROACH: Following the SS Aurelia from Livorno to Quercianella, roughly 300 m from the village where is the namesake restaurant (with great views of the sea), you find the cliff of Sassoscritto.
Access to climbing area is easy . A relatively newly built stairway (with old wooden railways sleepers ), marked by appropriate signs leads you at sea level.Turn right at the end the stairs. Than walk on the beach below the cliff from south to north
