Description

A medieval citadel, Dvigrad, dominates the Lim valley. It is located in the vicinity of a small town, Kanfanar. It was build in the 11th century, and deserted in the middle of the 17th century, after the epidemics of the plague broke out. Not far away from the remains of the citadel, and on the far outer brink of the valley, there is a compact wall formed by rocks. About 20 years ago, it arose interest of climbers. A famous Italian climber, Maurizio Zanolla – Manolo, equipped the first routes there. For some time nothing much was happening there, but then, a climber from Rovinj, Doriano Perhat, continued equipping this climbing site. Besides a number of routes, quality of the rock and the idyllic landscape add more reasons to visit this interesting climbing site.

Note: During summer, after 16:00 hrs., the cliff is in the shadow. Be aware of snakes. After the rain the wall dries quickly. Some routes are very polished, anyway the crag is not crowded. Routes can vary in style, but good technique is necessary. You will find cracks, small holds, smearing with your feet...Stiffer shoes can help on this crag.
