Description

In the guidebook this area is referred to as Tjeldbergvika/Finnvika, with several different sectors. To simplify matters they are all under the same roof here. This area, strategically situated between Kabelvåg and Svolvær, has the potential to become a very popular spot. Much of it depends on what will happen with the land in the future though, since there are plans for housing development on the peninsula. There’s a lot of rock in the area and the rock is generally very good, although it might be considered sharp in some places. There’s a fair share of steep problems, and more of that to be done in the future.
You can walk along the shore between Tjeldbergvika and Finnvika, but this involves a bit of sketchy scrambling just west of the Finnvika sport crag. It is better then to head up in the valley north of Morstadbaugen and Flour Power, walking just south of the private house that is tucked away in the trees. This involves a bit of bushwacking though, so on second thought the best choice may be to head out to the road again...

History

Surely locals have climbed in the early days, but the earliest recorded climbing is from 2004, when Ben Moon visited the area together with Marius Morstad. During the years a large number of problems have been established, most of them by anonymous first ascentionsists.
