Description

Most of the sectors in Fruberget are located on top of a hill, one of the highest in the Västervik area, and it has beautiful views of the see from both sides. This climbing area is nature reserve because of its special geology and beautiful forests.

Fruberget is the biggest and most popular bouldering area around Västervik. It requires a bit of effort to reach the sectors, but it is totally worthy. The rock quality is excellent with very characteristic black colour and yellow lichen. The holds are normally good crimpers and jugs, and the rock is easy on the skin, so it is possible to climb several days in a row.

Fruberget is perfect for both beginners and experienced climbers. Most of the problems are on caves or overhangs but there are also some good slabs. Landings are generally good but for some problems you definitely need more than one pad. The best time to visit Fruberget is from Spring to Autumn. The sectors Lilla grottan and V-väggen are on top of the hill where there is pretty windy, so there are the sectors that dry faster after raining.
