Description

Ganja is a short Block near the Zemmbach just across from the Klausen Alm. It is known for the crack with the same Name. A true trad classic of Zillertal!

It is situated in a beautiful part of the valley with two bolder areas and very close by. The walk to the Crag is a gentle uphill journey that takes 15-20 minutes and comes across a few beautiful pieces of rock. Dolby Souround is to the right on the walk up to Ganja.

History

The block was initially discovered by Gerhard Hörhager back in 1987, which is also the year he opened the iconic route Ganja. Later in 1999 and 2001 a few bolted routes were added.

Ganja

The area is access sensitive!

1) Climbing is only allowed when there are no animals on the meadow! No littering

2) Drive into Zillertal then head up left in Mayerhofen towards Ginzling. Keep going a little past Ewige Jagdgründe, 3 imposing blocks, to the left of the road. Then before going onto the toll road there is a parking sign to the left for the Breitlaner Alm. Park here. (6€ for a day) It takes around 15-20 minutes to get to the Crag and is mostly a gentle uphill walk.

3) From the Parking lot head down past the left of Breitlaner Alm, across the bridge and the to the right up the hill. Follow this wide path until you can see the Klausen Alm. Here the Block with the routes will be to your right facing away from the road and towards the creek. There is a detailed GPS path on the map for reference.
