Description

🚶‍♂️ 1-15' - ⛰️ 1100 MSL - 🧭 NESW - ☀️ boulders are mainly shady

Ginzling Wald is an historic boulder area of Zillertal, located in the forest close to the Ginzling village.
The area is located at about 1100 meters above sea level and the boulders are generally shaded by the trees. Best seasons are Spring and Autumn, since during Summer, despite the shadow, it could be a bit hot.
Ginzling Wald turns out to be one of the most famous climbing areas of Zillertal thanks to the high accessibility of the boulders, the comfortable approach (some boulders are located just by the car park) and the great amount of problems of all difficulties. The rock is great and has a lot of friction.
We find here some of the hardest problems of the valley, as Incubator, Ground zero, and Sundance kid sit.
Landings are good and usually require a few pads.
In this topo we also grouped a couple of sport sectors: Neuginzling Stuane and Kinderparadies feature some easy slab routes that are perfect for children, but also some harder stuff. Untere Nasenwald is a 30 meter vertical wall with some nice technical and fingery lines.

Remember that Zillertl is one of the wildest valleys South of Inn in Tyrol and it is a great destination for climbing, thanks to the huge amount of bouldering and sport areas.
It is drained by the Ziller River and lies in the strongly glaciated Zillertal Alps. One can appreciate the view of the Tux Alps on the West, while the lower grass peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps on the East.
Among the other valleys in Tyrol, this one is the most visited by tourists and its largest settlement is Mayrhofen. What makes Zillertal one of the leading destinations in the Alps is its offer of a healthy mix of adventure, enjoyment and relaxation.

History
