Driving Directions:
From Fayetteville, turn right onto US-19N and cross the NRG birdge. Take the 2nd left after the bridge onto Ames Heights Road. Drive about a half mile, then follow the AAC Campground signs by making a left (Opossum Creek Road is to your right. The left is unnamed, but is actually Burma Road). This road takes you to the AAC Campground and Junkyard Crag. Park in the first lot you see on your left. This is the AAC overflow lot.

During winter months ONLY: The AAC campground has the bathrooms and normal campground reservations closed from the end of November through the end of March. During this time it is okay to drive into the campground and park in the larger pull out, next to the drainage crossed before heading up the hill to the Tuggin' Shack.

Hiking Directions:

Please be respectful of the boulders in the campground sites and do NOT climb on these lines while these camp sites are occupied.

Walk into the campground and right at the fork (you should now be walking against the flow of traffic).
AAC Campground Boulders:
The Entrance Cluster boulders are on your left after 10ft. If you've passed any campsites, you've gone too far. Keep walking around the curve in the road for the Site 37 Boulder. It will be on your left before you get to site 37. Walk a bit further to find the Site 23 Boulder at site 23, across from a large parking area and fire ring. All of the campground boulders are very short walks from the road and halve tiny sections of steep walking.
Tuggin' Shack and Souvenir Roof:
The doubletrack trail that breaks off diagonally right up the hill leads to the Tuggin' Shack. If you walk to the far end of the Tuggin' Shack and keep following the trail across the steep hill, you'll come to the Souvenir Roof. The trail has a tiny creek crossing, elevation gain, and is a 4wd road so is uneven, but is wide and relatively well maintained. The trail between The Tuggin' Shack and Souvenir Roof is narrow but flat.
Ronski Feint Area:
From the Tuggin' Shack, follow the trail directly away from the Tuggin' Shack across the clearing. Cross the gully/creek. When it intersects the Burnwood Loop Trail, take a sharp right. At the top of the next hill, take a right on a faint trail. The trail ends on the point with the Ronski Feint Boulder. The trail between The Tuggin' Shack and Ronski Feint Areais well maintained but has a creek crossing and elevation change.
The Moe Area:
Keep on trucking down the Burnwood Loop Trail another 60 yards until you can barely see some boulders in a drainage on your right. This is The Moe Area. You'll know you've gone too far if you see a massive beech tree with a split trunk on your left. The rest of the trail is well maintained until you split off to The Moe Area, where it becomes uneven. Total hiking time: 1-12 minutes.
