Description

Langarica canyon is a small climbing area with currently 12 routes on offer. The grades range from 4c to 7b+ with the more difficult routes being of better quality. The original developers of the area envisioned several different linkups. We have decided to limit the routes on here to mostly independent lines. Several of them can be combined to have more to climb.
The main selling point for this area is its location. The climbs are found in a beautiful narrow canyon with a river flowing through it, just a few minutes away from (admittedly not very hot) hot springs, mud baths and an Ottoman bridge.

History

The routes were bolted by a group of visiting German climbers in 2013.
Some of the group had previously been part of an expedition in 2010 that opened the first route on the south face of Arapi, as well establishing some of the first sport climbing routes in Albania.
The group originally came to the Përmet region with the goal of opening a big multipitch on the impressive Papingut south face. When they got turned around by bad rock quality they decided to open this sport climbing sector instead.
