Description

Maybe out of respect towards the beauty and its idyllic scenery, climbers have hesitated for a long time to establish routes in this area. The first routes were established in 2000, but they were soon forgotten. In 2018 the old routes were reequipped by Austrian and domestic climbers and many new routes were established. The A sector mostly offers easier climbs with satisfying rock quality. The B sector offers excellent and steep rock with small and sharp holds (crimps). The C sector is special and quite impressive because of its height but also because of the routes which are overhanging and rich in tufas. They just are wet for longer period after heavy rain.
Climbing is possible during the entire year. During Summer, the crag is in the shade until 1 p.m.

Accomodation: Numerous campgrounds and private accommodation in Cres and its surroundings (www.tzg-cres.hr). Zdovica campground in Valun, Kovačine campground in Cres.

History

First routes are opened long time ago by Edin Durmo and local climbers. During 2017 Austrian climbers Heinz Lechner and Christian Grubler opened seven new routes in sector Tohuwabohu. They are soon followed by Boris Čujić, Žarko Kaličanin and Jason Copeland. They have opened and rebolted routes on sector Konoba and Tohuwabohu. Marin Ruspić a local from Cres finished work with rebolting routes in sector Stari.
