⚠️Falling rocks from above are a real hazard, caused both by natural instability of some blocks and by goats or people walking on the ledges above the cliffs, so always stay alert. A wide and diverse area, suitable for both beginners and more experienced climbers. At the Paretone, it’s possible to climb even on rainy days, while the other sectors offer a variety of routes with different styles. Altogether, this makes the crag an interesting destination in every season and for all levels.

• Il Faro
Just over 20 routes ranging from 5th grade to 7b+, climbing on high-quality rock that alternates between vertical walls and powerful overhangs. Great variety of styles and excellent rock quality.
• Avancorpo del Mistero
A small but intense sector with a handful of lines from 6a to 7b, including a notable Berger project.
• Berger
Slightly more than a dozen routes located at the top of the crag, with difficulties from 5th grade to 6c. Features slabs, vertical faces, and overhangs.
• Sotto la Cengia
Around ten lines from 5th grade to 6b+, climbing on bluish limestone with mostly vertical profiles. A compact and enjoyable sector.
• Parete delle Meraviglie
Just over 20 routes with technical and varied movements, from 5th grade up to 7b+. Ideal for those who appreciate precise climbing on solid rock.
• Moneta Sinistra
Just over 25 routes on distinctive white and pale-blue limestone. Grades range from 4th to 7b+, offering styles for every climber.
• Paretone
An imposing wall with steep overhangs on reddish rock, ideal at sunset. Grades go beyond the 8th, with excellent climbing quality. Climbable even in the rain.
• Moneta Destra
A small bastion with both single-pitch and multipitch lines, ranging from 4th grade to 6c+. A compact yet eclectic sector.
• Eldorado
Fun routes from 5th grade to 7a+, climbing on colorful and sculpted limestone in red, white, and blue tones. A varied and enjoyable climbing experience.

Una zona ampia e varia, adatta sia ai principianti che agli scalatori più esperti. Al Paretone si riesce a scalare anche nei giorni di pioggia, mentre gli altri settori offrono numerose linee con stili differenti. Un insieme che rende la falesia interessante in ogni stagione e per tutti i livelli.

Poco più di 20 linee che spaziano dal 5° al 7b+, su una roccia che alterna muri verticali a strapiombi decisi. Qualità ottima e grande varietà di stili.
• Avancorpo del Mistero
Una manciata di vie dal 6a al 7b, in un settore raccolto ma intenso. Presente anche un progetto Berger.
• Berger
Poco più di una dozzina di vie, poste in cima alla falesia, con difficoltà che vanno dal 5° al 6c. Si scala su muri appoggiati, verticali e strapiombanti.
• Sotto la Cengia
Una decina di tiri dal 5° al 6b+, su calcare bluastro e prevalentemente verticale. Settore compatto e piacevole.
• Parete delle Meraviglie
Poco più di 20 vie, tecniche e variate, con difficoltà dal 5° fino al 7b+. Ideale per chi cerca movimenti precisi su roccia solida.
• Moneta Sinistra
Poco più di 25 linee, su una roccia bianca e azzurrina molto particolare. Le difficoltà variano dal 4° al 7b+, offrendo stili per tutti.
• Paretone
Un settore imponente con vie strapiombanti su roccia rossastra, perfetto al tramonto. Le difficoltà superano l’ottavo grado, con qualità arrampicatoria eccellente. Scalabile anche con la pioggia.
• Moneta Destra
Una piccola bastionata con sia monotiri che multipitch, su difficoltà dal 4° al 6c+. Settore eclettico ma compatto.
• Eldorado
Vie divertenti dal 5° al 7a+, su una roccia arzigogolata dai colori rosso, bianco e blu. Esperienza di scalata molto varia e piacevole.

⏪⌚Climbing on Monte Moneta began in 1963 with the first ascent by Steve and De Ruvo. After years of inactivity, Frezzotti reignited interest in 1982 by opening Speranza di tempi migliori. Between 1984 and 1985, new routes were developed on the Parettone thanks to Pennisi, Vitale, and Priorini. In 1987, Di Bari freed Pietro Ferraris, making Moneta more accessible.
During the same period, Ciato and the Vitale–Cosenza duo explored the buttresses. Amid tension and rivalry, the legendary era of big overhangs came to a close by the end of the ’80s.
In the 1990s, activity focused on the sectors surrounding the Parettone, which today can be visited thanks to local regulations and cooperation with public agencies.

⏪⌚L’arrampicata sul Monte Moneta inizia nel 1963 con la prima salita di Steve e De Ruvo. Dopo anni di silenzio, nel 1982 Frezzotti apre Speranza di tempi migliori, rilanciando l’interesse. Tra il 1984 e il 1985 si sviluppano nuove vie sul Parettone grazie a Pennisi, Vitale e Priorini. Nel 1987 Di Bari libera Pietro Ferraris, rendendo il Moneta più accessibile.
Nello stesso periodo, Ciato e il duo Vitale-Cosenza esplorano i contrafforti. Tra tensioni e rivalità, si conclude negli anni ’80 la fase leggendaria dei grandi strapiombi.
Negli anni ’90 l’attività si concentra sui settori attorno al Parettone, oggi frequentabili grazie a regolamentazioni e collaborazioni con enti locali.
