Description

MV-kivet is a compact set of 3 boulders side by side. The routes are mainly low to mid height with good holds, making it a good spot for beginners too. Rock type is a mixture of nice smooth rock and not that good with small lumps on it. Landings are mainly good, with the exception of the overhanging face of MV-kivi, where there are big rocks in front of the face.

Boulders are on a partially open forest, making them dry relatively quickly after the rains. And if boulders are wet, maintenance is easy, just climb to the top, grab a rug and dry the holds :) Partial shades and mainly good, grippy holds make them a good choice for summertime bouldering too. All-in-all MV-Kivet is a good spot for a visit at any time of the year.

Please note: If you're going there for "Move To The Groove" you should have some smaller or not that sturdy pad with you, as you can't fit a big sturdy pad in between the rocks in the start.

History

The rocks were found by Kimmo in spring 2021 when driving by after a session at V-koski. A boulder spotted accidentally driving by is called a Mitä V****a -kivi (wtf-rock) among Kimmo & some of his friends. And this was definitely one of these boulders that made him say the words "Mitä v****a?!?!" aloud when driving by.

Kimmo did some initial brushing when finding the boulders to see what they've got to offer, and shortly after climbed first problems with his friends Tuukka and Hanna. After opening some of the easier problems himself, Tatu joined the team for some more FA's during the summer 2021. In September -21 Kimmo finished the last project "Move To The Groove" and all the main problems were done and the crag ready to be published.
