Description

Retulan kivi is a nice large boulder with relatively good rock quality. The height varies from 2-4 metres. Styles vary from low overhangs to mid-height vertical routes and slabs. Landings are mostly safe, but the face where "Retula Renegades" is makes an exception, there is a rock just behind the few routes where you want a spotter to back you up.

Retulan kivi is a shady boulders, so it's a good option for summertime bouldering as well.

History

Retulan kivi was found in 2012 and developed by a group of local enthusiasts (most likely all of them at the time). It has been a popular boulder among locals, and even those travellers from South and North.

In recent years Retulan kivi has been left in the shadows of all new crags, with no reason, as it still is well worth a visit alone, or combined with Valtia which is located just a couple hundred meters from Retulan kivi.
