Description

Schwarze Wand is one of the most impressive walls of Zillertal. It offers a variety of climbing from really steep overhangs to tricky slabs, sometimes even in the same route. Climbing is mostly quite powerful on crimps and small nobs. The name giving black granite is of the highest quality and stability.

The approach takes 15-20 minutes and goes uphill. Further discription found in the access tab. The wall gets a lot of sun making it a good option for spring and autumn. In summer conditions may be better in the late afternoon.
After heavy rains the wall can take 2-3 days to fully dry. However with wind and a bit of sun in can be quicker.

Most iconic climbs are situated on the higher end of the grading scale.
