Description

All sectors are located on the cliffs below the Súľov Castle and are mostly southeast-facing. They offer a wide range of routes - from easy to difficult, short to long, and even multi-pitch routes leading to the tops of the spires with breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The many vertical slabs and towers, which require good climbing technique, as well as the fascinating rock structures offer a variety of unique challenges and experiences.

🧗‍♀️ TROJZUBEC
The sector is divided into the west-facing and southeast-facing part. It offers both easy and difficult, short and long, mostly vertical routes, allowing every climber to find their preferred line and style. There is also an option to choose traditional climbing using your own protection in cracks and chimneys.

🧗‍♀️ KRÍDLO
Climbing on unique rock features in vertical slabs provides a fantastic climbing experience. In summer, the sun hits the sector until about 2pm, but thanks to its location in the forest, the routes are at least partially shaded, which also allows for climbing on warmer days.

🧗‍♀️ HARFA
The sector offers beautiful climbing routes where your slab technique will be thoroughly checked. Since it is not completely shaded by the trees, it receives more sunlight, making it more suitable for climbing on cooler or cloudy days, or in the afternoon.

🧗‍♀️ ZRKADLO
The highlight of this sector is a monumental vertical face. Due to its slightly crumbly nature, it currently only contains one project, but several long routes run along its sides. There are also a couple of shorter routes with a completely different climbing style located in the right part of the sector.

🧗‍♀️ CHRÁM
Another sector with amazing rock formations. Long, balancy routes lead along tufa-like features that require excellent technique and strong nerves. Despite the relatively good protection, full concentration is required throughout the climbs.

🧗‍♀️ VPN
This popular and regularly visited sector is sought-after mainly because of easier routes. A couple of long lines lead to the very top of the crag with breathtaking summit views. A small, flat area below the rocks provides a comfortable place to rest. The sun will keep you warm until about 2pm in the summer.

🧗‍♀️ OBELISK
The first sector you’ll come across after you leave the red hiking trail. It is divided into two parts: southeast-facing and southwest-facing.

🧗‍♀️ VYHLIADKA
A relatively rugged sector, located to the right of Obelisk, offers shorter, bouldery routes, most of them hidden in the shade.

History

The history of climbing in this part of the Súľovské skaly dates back to 1984, when the first cracks were climbed. Many of them lead to the tops of towers offering beautiful views.
