Svartøien

Svartøien is the most recent bouldering area in Oppdal. The bouldering is situated close to the parking spaces, and Svartøien is also close to the sport-crag Ishoel, both 15 minute drive from Oppdal. Most of the problems are in the 6A-7A spectrum, and some of them are really nice. Take the gradings with a pinch of salt, as some of the problems have not seen many repeats. There is also potential for some more and harder problems, so feel free to leave topo suggestions. All the projects are of course free to try.
The blocks are cleaned well and therefore most of the area dries quite fast. The rock is gneiss, and generally solid with good friction. Landings are also relatively flat, so 1-2 pads should be enough for most of the problems even though there are exceptions:)

Please use the big parking space before the bridge, or the smaller parking spaces further up the road (1-2 cars). Do NOT park on the south side of the bridge.

The first registered boulders were put up in 2021, and the area quickly hosted 30-40 problems. As the boulders in the area is usually covered in lots of moss (sometimes trees and bushes), the cleaning process is time consuming, and the development therefore takes time. At the time writing, Svartøien now hosts close to 60 problems, and has something for everyone. Development is not done, and the search for both easier and hard lines is still ongoing.

Everyone is welcome to contribute with cleaning and brushing new lines, so feel free to add topo suggestions.
