Description

This small area has some spectacular looking boulders, especially King Fisher, which seems to be on every visiting climbers wish list. The area consists of three different sectors; Kangerura, Trolldalstjønna and Kartneset. Trolldalstjønna is the most interesting one, since that's where King Fisher is, so it has given the name to the whole area (in the printed guidebook it's referred to as Justad). The rock is generally very good, but a little bit on the sharp side sometimes.

Support the local business by buying the printed Lofoten Bouldering Guidebook at one of the local shops. The book can also be bought at loftenbouldering.com.

History

Risto Saarinen opened things up in 2006 when he made the first ascent of King Fisher. It's not hard to imagine what he must have felt when finding this gem of a boulder! Since then there hasn't been that much activity, maybe because it's hard to find something nearby that will match the quality of King Fisher? Surely there are more lines waiting for the future.
