Description

Great roadside crag with literally no approach.
Weißenstein offers climbing in a wide range of grades, from easy climbs in the 3rd to 5th grade on the left and up to 7c on the right.
The main even is the big overhanging bulge.

The crag is located just next to the road leading from Plech to Neuhaus an der Pegnitz and requires no approach.
The cliff base is a meadow that is big enough to be very family-friendly.

Weißenstein is oriented South and in open terrain, which means you get a lot of sun and it dries fast.

The good climbing and non-existing approach make the crag busy on weekends and after work.
The popularity of the crag means that the anchors wear off fast, make sure to assess their state before using. If necessary, leave a biner behind.

History

First routes were done already in the 60's. In the 80's, Wolfgang Güllich and Kurt Albert also left their marks.
