Description

🌍 Eidetindsura is a big boulder field below the north face of Eidetinden. It is on faily flat ground and not to difficult to navigate in. But the approch is a little lon and tiresome. There is excellent views north and west towards Steigen and Lofoten. And when the sun starts to come around at about 13 o'clock it is a nice place to hang out.

🧗‍♀️⛰ The bouldering here is on free standing boulders with a rough texture but is surprisingly solid considering the mountain it came from. Landings can vary from good to a bit challenging. It is recommended to bring at least two crash pads. It can be windy and as many boulders are in the shade until mid afternoon it can be a cool and a potentialy good place for some summer bouldering. Only a little has been developed here but the potential is big.

👶 The area in itself is good for kids that can roam a bit around without constant observation, if you can get them through the hike there. It is probably not easy to bring smaller kids even in back carriers as you have to walk through som ungroomed bushy parts once you leave the main path and head uphill.

🛏 Around the parking along the cost you'll find many good places to pitch a tent and make a campfire. And you can also stay in you campervan at the parking. There is a public toilet just a short way down a gravel road roughly 50 meter north of the parking. It would also be very nice to camp by the boulders if you decide to carry in all the gear need.

History

Development started in 2019 by Jo Arve Repp, Sveinung Bertnes Råheim and others on a trip to climb the north wall of Eidetind. Later that same year Rasmus Bølling and Anders A. Larsen added a few ekstra routes.
