⛰️NOLITUDE: The rock, different from the one found in other areas of the Finale area, is made up of a particular limestone which makes this place unique and worthy of a visit. It is one of the four cliffs overlooking the open sea between Varigotti and Noli. The access is quite complex, requiring a rappel of about 10 meters and an equipped traverse of about 40 meters. The base of the crag is comfortable, but sometimes narrow, and the bolting, although good overall, requires attention.

E' una delle quattro falesie che si affacciano sul mare aperto tra Varigotti e Noli. L'accesso è piuttosto complesso, richiedendo una calata di circa 10 metri e un traverso attrezzato di circa 40 metri. La base della falesia è comoda, ma a tratti stretta, e la chiodatura, sebbene nel complesso buona, richiede attenzione.

⏪⌚The history of Caponoli dates back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, when the first routes were bolted, marking the beginning of systematic exploration in the area. During this period, leading figures in climbing such as Patrick Berhault, together with Grillo, played a key role in developing the crag, leaving a lasting mark on the history of climbing in the Finalese.
In the years that followed, the area continued to evolve thanks to the contributions of other prominent climbers. Mauro Calibani left his signature with an impressive deep water solo route graded 8a, a line of high commitment and technical value, while Andrea Gallo established several harder routes, further pushing the difficulty level of climbing in the area.
Among the most iconic achievements is “In scio Bolezumme”, widely regarded as the most famous multipitch route in Finale. This route stands as a true symbol of local climbing, combining history, aesthetics, and technical challenge, and continues to attract climbers from all over the world.

⏪⌚La storia di Caponoli affonda le sue radici tra la fine degli anni ’80 e i primi anni ’90, periodo in cui vennero realizzate le prime chiodature che segnarono l’inizio dell’esplorazione sistematica della zona. In quegli anni, figure di primo piano dell’arrampicata, come Patrick Berhault insieme a Grillo, contribuirono in modo significativo allo sviluppo delle linee, lasciando un’impronta indelebile nella storia del Finalese.
Negli anni successivi, l’area continuò a evolversi grazie al contributo di altri scalatori di rilievo. Mauro Calibani arricchì Caponoli con un notevole deep water solo di grado 8a, una linea di grande impegno e valore tecnico, mentre Andrea Gallo tracciò alcune vie di difficoltà superiore, spingendo ulteriormente il livello dell’arrampicata nella zona.
Tra le realizzazioni più emblematiche spicca “In scio Bolezumme”, universalmente riconosciuta come la multipitch più famosa di Finale. Questa via rappresenta un vero e proprio simbolo dell’arrampicata locale, capace di unire storia, estetica e impegno tecnico, e continua ancora oggi ad attirare scalatori da tutto il mondo.
