Description

Riskeläisvuori is a seaside crag in Kustavi which is at it's best during the early spring in February and March. Those spring months the crag is dry and the approach is easy. Belaying and climbing on ice makes a memorable start for the summer rock climbing season.

The water is never deep enough for DWS. It the summertime you'll have to resort on abseiling in and hanging belays on sectors Roikku and Myrskyluoto. The rest you can climb more or less from the shore but the ground can be quite wet sometimes.

The grand Kustavi classics are Kivekset (5+) and Strontium (6a+). Both routes you will never forget. In summertime you can also rent boats from Lootholma campsite on the other side of the Riskeläisvuori bay.

History

Riskeläisvuori was found by Max Helander and Marko Marila. Most obvious routes were done in the summer of 2003.

These days the route count is totalling around 70 routes. There are no bolts and Riskeläisvuori is intended to stay bolt-free.
