Only 20 minutes away from Tampere city center and easily accessible, Kaarinan Kalliot offers varied climbing on mostly vertical good quality granite. Use the marked parking, and the good established paths. The boulder problems range from 4+ to 7B in difficulty. The landings are mostly flat and safe, and the rocks vary in height from only a couple of meters to about 7 meters in the Deep Freeze and Stonehenge sectors.
The two sunny sectors, Solarium and Scorchio dry up fast and are climbable soon after a light rain on a warm summer day. The big shady cliff of Deep Freeze takes longer to dry, and it can seep a long time after the winter. The seeping water has created beautiful colourful lines on the big rock face. The three new sectors, Stonehenge, Kustavin suurlähetystö and Turistikivet are all partly shady, and some of the routes dry up relatively quickly, whereas some can drip for a day or two after the rain.
