Description

The sector is located near the wind turbines on top of the hill. There is a good parking area and a short approach to this quick drying sector.

The main feature of the crag is a big roof and some fine lines on the wall to the right and a large boulder down the hill.

Some of the cracks on the big roof may require half a day or so to dry after rain.

The hilltop location is breezy and shady and so a cool spot during hot summer days.

The area around the Big Roof sector is child friendly (Tested with 2 and 3 year olds).

Note: No open fire is allowed and No camping in area or parking.

History

During the wet and snowy Easter of 2019 Anssi Laatikainen spent his stay in Åland failing to dry his projects and so searched for new crags instead. Discovering the big roof was a truly lucky strike as it was not a feature shown on the map.

By the end of June 2019 Anssi and his crew had brushed and opened all the main lines.
